Beating the service industry worker crunch!

Idea Description
In virtually every upscale suburb in the United States, service industry managers are desperate for workers. From fast food to dry cleaners to quick lubes, there are never enough reliable employees. As a result long shifts, hard work, and fast burnout occurs. And so, turnover within this industry commonly exceeds 100% each year.

While business owners on one side of a city aren't able to hire a full staff, workers on another are struggling to find jobs but have little experience and no transportation.

Here's my idea to solve this problem without establishing another government program: Form a service industry trade association with member contributions that would provide the following:

1. A training center in areas where workers live but have no jobs.

2. A jobs clearing house that would tell prospects who's hiring, hours required, and benefits.

3. A transportation system that would carry workers from the traning center to their jobs each day.

4. Counseling for workers who have problems on the job.

5. Rewards and bonuses for workers who perform well, show up on time, and maintain an excellent attendance record.

My personal experience and research suggests that such a system could easily be supported with salary differentials that are currently paid to attract workers.

As workers succeed within this system they are able to provide their own transportation and no longer require training and support so that new prospects can benefit from the program.

Note: This would also be an excellent opportunity for entrepreneurs in many areas with revenue gained by charging employers fees and commissions for keeping the worker pipeline flowing.
